More on the Effectiveness of Google Search

Part 1

1. Search engines do not yield the same results. Some of the popular search engines are Google, Yahoo and Bing. However, Google is more widely used than the other two because Google is good at locating relevant stories or articles and is good at filtering them to suit the users' needs. Google also offers a wide range of options that can help you in your search. It is safe to conclude that not all search engines provides the same results, even if you say that all search engines have access to the same information on the web.

2. Keywords are essential in searching. Word order doesn't matter because Google finds results to your search terms by word. But it is more convenient if your search term is in the right order or if it "makes sense." However, if you are searching for exact keywords, word order definitely matters.

3. D.
If we want to know what are the synonyms to a certain word from our results, there is an easier way of doing so. Instead of typing, "what are the synonyms of (word)" or "(word) synonyms," we can just add the ~ sign before our search term. For example, we want to know the synonyms of the word "schools" in the phrase "top schools in the philippines." We simply type in top ~schools in the philippines in the search bar.

4. What time will the sun rise in Nice, France today?
7:41 Wednesday (CET) - Sunrise in Nice, France

5. First, I looked up Palace of the Light of Faith room count in Google. The first result was a thread about Istana Nurul Iman also known as the Palace of the Light of Faith. It is stated there the total number of rooms but didn't say how many bathrooms there is. I settled for the second result which led me to a wikipedia page about it. It is stated under "Physical Characteristics" that "The palace contains 1,788 rooms, which includes 257 bathrooms." So I subtracted the number of bathrooms to the total number of rooms. The result is 1531. Then I divided the number of days in a year (365 days) to the total number of rooms excluding the bathrooms (1531) by typing 1531/365 in Google which gave me the result of 4.19. So it will take you 4.19 years to sleep in all the rooms (excluding the bathrooms) of the Palace of the Light of Faith.
